Toys R Us A Magical Playland of Toys
This last weekend my husband and I managed to get to Toys R Us. We had a blast looking around making want lists – and saying how we can’t wait until the Geekling gets a bit older so he can play with some of the toys. While I was there I took some pictures of stuff I thought looked interesting.
First, we went to the Lego section. They always has different displays of their new Lego sets….right now they have Star Wars. I love Jabba’s Palace Playset…it even has a Hans in Carbonite and when you look around the other side of the Carbonite, there is a little Han Lego guy, it looks like you can pop him out.
Aren’t the Storm Troopers, R2D2, and CP3O cute! I always love the Lego sets for the little Lego guys.
After the Legos we were looking over in the preschool – early school area. Toys R Us has a cool Spiderman playset, which of course you can buy all the extra guys and vehicles aas well – so cute! Next to the Spiderman playset Toys R Us has all their Imaginext playsets. I already told you about the Geeklings Imaginext Batcave Playset, http://justadashofgeek.com/imaginext-batman/. Toys R Us has the newest additions which is Gotham City and Arkham Jail, as well as 6 character vehicles which are Toys R Us Exclusives.
We walked around a bit more and happened across this line of toys I hadn’t heard of yet called Mezitz. You can see in the below picture the Batman with Batmobile and Superman. They also had another Batman and Batmobile, but it was the movie-verse Batmobile.
Toys R Us seems to always have Minimates - at least mine does. I have seen Minimates in comic characters, but I hadn’t seen Battlestar Galactica Minimates yet.
Mad Magazine is carrying a line of action figures that takes the Mad guy and dresses him up as a comic character. They had him as Green arrow and Superman, but I thought this Aquaman was the funniest.
Toys R Us has a section with Hanna Barbera toys, which I thought was Awesome, so I had to share. There was Captain Cave MAAAAAANNNN!
Fred Flinstone and Yogi Bear Plushes…..
and Tom and Jerry, Yogi Bear, and Hong Kong Phooey action figures. As well as The Jetsons and Tom and Jerry small play figures. I love the Hong Kong Phooey!
I love looking around Toys R Us – even if I don’t buy – I always have a great time. Have you seen any of these toys before? Do any of them excite you and if yes which ones?
Also don’t forget to enter our giveaway for a piece of Geek/ Popculture Jewelry – http://justadashofgeek.com/geek-jewelry-nerdy-robot/ it ends tomorrow 8/31.

I love Legos & more important any child that has come to my house
Have always loved them. Although all the themed Legos are so cool
I have found that you can buy the plain bucket of Legos, even the generic
kind & most kids will play for at least an hour & usually longer.
What is so amazing to me is they interest, boys & girls and they seem
to be great for any age. I have had company come over who had
kids with them, I drug out the generic Lego bucket and soon even
The adults were “helping” the kids.”
I loved this article, as it gave me ideas for Christmas!

I agree I love Legos for the same reason and generic legos are great – But these sets are too cool…. and not only are they for kids, but I know adults that collect these sets and display them as decorations…. Legos are versatile and transend age, which makes them great!
