The Geekerie – A new take on movie art
I have said this before, I love art. I love all different types of art, specially when they have Geek themes. So, it is no wonder why I am head over heals for The Geekerie. The Geekerie takes many of my beloved movies and geek things and twists them into a classy Modern/Retro/Vintage art prints. I am so happy that they agreed to be a part of the 2012 Holiday Gift Guide for Geeks. The Geekerie asked me to pick out 2 prints for the review….although it was very hard to choose, I managed to pull through and make a decision.
This is the Labyrinth: Science Fiction and Fantasy Cult Movie Poster – 11×17 from The Geekerie. Labyrinth is one of my classic favorites, and this print makes it look really classy. I really like how the Owl is the focal point of the print, however, at the same time the owl is blending into the back ground. The colors chosen for this print would match almost any decor – which is a plus for any print. The quote on the print is:
Give me the child. Through dangers untold and hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the Goblin City to take back the child that you have stolen. For my will is as strong as yours, and my kingdom is as great. You have no power over me.
The Phoenix aka Jean Grey- 11×17 is my favorite print at The Geekerie. The colors are bright and in your face. I love that you can’t tell if the Phoenix is made of fire, or just walking through fire. This print inspires me, it makes me want to dance or sing…. it just has a very passionate feel to it. I also love the little details, such as the hands looking reminiscent of talons. The Geekerie has a whole X-Men line that is just amazing.
The Geekerie has a whole selection of other movie and geek related prints as well.
The Walking Dead Inspired Collage Illustration for “Guts” – 8×18 Inch Print
The Avengers Movie Inspired Nick Fury Character Poster – 11×17 Fine Art Print
The Eleventh Hour – Doctor Who Inspired 11×17 Science Fiction Quote Poster

The Geekerie uses 80lb high-quality matte paper, that is perfect for framing or wall mounting. The quality is really top-notch – I love my prints and hope to buy more soon!
