New release movies in theaters August 31

Here are the new release movies in theaters August 31.

First of all Avengers is being brought back to theaters for labor day weekend (http://collider.com/the-avengers-theaters-labor-day/192097/) The article doesn’t say if it is all theaters, so make sure to check your local theater before going.

For a Good Time, Call… – R (limited theaters)

Lauren Miller – Lauren Powell
James Wolk – Charlie
Ari Graynor – Katie Steele
Justin Long – Jesse

I have not heard of this movie before this, but from the trailer it shows some promises for laughs if you like raunchy humor. I would wait for this to hit Netflix though just to be sure…plus it seems to be only in some theaters. So if you do want to see this, check your theater first to make sure they have it.

From the looks of it a very dramatic movie about Moonshiners. I have to say watching the trailer this movie looks kind of boring and I am not at all seeing Shia LaBeouf as a Moonshiner or whatever. I would wait until it hits Netflix at least, and honestly I may never watch it…. but maybe it is better then the trailer looked?

The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure – G

This is for small children….The human cast is awesome, but if you can’t stand toddler/preschool looking shows this would not be for you. BUT if you have a small child in your life, your own or one you borrow, this would be a great movie to take them to.However I am not brave enough to try to go to a theater that is showing a movie that is aimed at the preschool levels…. What little sanity I have left would be gone after that.

The Possession – PG-13

Jeffrey Dean Morgan – Clyde

Kyra Sedgwick – Stephanie
Jay Brazeau – Professor McMannis

A little girl possesed by a demon or a demonic presence or something to that effect…. There must not be a crucifix scene, since it is rated PG-13. This is by Sam Raimi and is of the horror genra so I will see it when it comes to Netflix – streaming. However I have a feeling this one might fall flat.

So for the new release movies in theaters August 31, I think they are all kind of bleh – which I am surprised since it is Labor Day Weekend….I thought something good might be coming out.(unless you want to count Avengers being released for the weekend) Oh well, join me next week and we will see what comes out then.
