9 New Fall Shows That Look AWESOME
Well September is here, and you know what that means….New Fall Shows! Lately I have been leery of new shows, since they seem to cancel at least half of what I like, and this fall is no different. All these shows look like they have the potential to be great, but will they pass the test or be cancelled like the rest?

666 Park Avenue – Airs September 30th – ABC
Terry O’Quinn – Gavin Doran
Vanessa Williams – Olivia Doran
Rachael Taylor – Jane Van Veen
Dave Annable – Henry Martin
At 666 Park Avenue, the Drake, all your wildest dreams can come true – but with a price. All the residents that live in the Drake are apparently clueless to the evil that lurks within. It is only after all their dreams come true do they start to realize there is more beneath the surface. I am left wondering how no one suspects something when strange things start happening in a building with the address 666…. but that is why we should tune in to find out!
*EDIT* I have been told by Carolyn, friend and reader, that the apartment buildings actual address is 999…. I missed that somehow, Thank you Carolyn for pointing this out!**

Arrow – Airs October 10th – CW
Stephen Amell – Oliver Queen
Katie Cassady – Laurel Lance
Willa Holland – Thea Queen
Arrow is based on the story of DC’s Green Arrow’s Oliver Queen. I don’t know how close they will get to the comic story of Oliver Queen or even Smallville’s Oliver Queen, but I am going to go into it expecting a loosely based Oliver Queen. It seems like the origins story is close….rich boy who was a brat gets trapped on an island for 5 years and has to learn to survive. In training himself he gets almost a super human accuracy with arrows. When it finally gets discovered he isn’t dead, he is rescued. Now he wishes to make amends for the person he was before the island. By day he plays a rich playboy and by night he plays the role of a vigilante, protecting his city.

Beauty and the Beast – Airs October 11th – CW
Yannick Bisson – Alex Webster
Daniel DiTomasso – Zeke
Kristin Kreuk – Catherine Chandler
Tale as old as time….and just about repeated as much. I am excited for this show, but I am also leery of it. It will play after the Vampire Diaries’s, so hopefully the crowd will stick around and watch it. This is based on the 1980′s/90′s Beauty and the Beast television show….which I LOVED, so hopefully it will live up to it. Basically, I am withholding an opinion at this point.

Elementary – September 27th – CBS
Jonny Lee Miller – Sherlock Holmes
Lucy Liu – Joan Watson
Aidan Quinn – Captain Tobias Gregson
This is a modern-day tale of Sherlock Holmes living in New York City….and Watson is a woman – and not just ANY woman, Lucy Liu. This show has real potential – I can’t wait!
——————————
Last Resort – September 27th – ABC
Omid Abtahi – Nigel
Max Adler – Stern
Daisy Betts – Lieutenant Grace Shepard
Andre Braugher – Capt. Marcus Chaplin
This one could go either way for me. I think it is an intriguing story so I will give it a try. Basically, a submarines crew is given an order to fire missiles on Pakistan. The crew refuses and are fired upon. They seek refuge on an island were they have to learn to survive and figure out how to clear their names so they can go home.

The Neighbors – September 26th – ABC
Jami Gertz – Debbie Weaver
Lenny Venito – Marty Weaver
Max Charles – Max Weaver
This looks like crazy, stupid fun….just my kind of fun. Family buys a house. Family meets the new neighbors. Family finds out all the neighbors are actually aliens pretending to be humans – and hilarity ensues. If done right this show could be awesome…..if not, it will sink very fast.
——————————–

The New Normal – September 11th – NBC
Justin Bartha – David Murray
Andrew Rannells – Bryan Collins
Georgia King – Goldie Clemmons
Bebe Wood – Shania Clemmons
This show looks funny and sweet. Young single mom that never got to pursue her dreams of being a lawyer because of having a child so young, decides to become a surrogate mother for a homosexual couple so that she can start to plan a better future for her and her daughter.

Revolution - September 17th – NBC
JD Pardo – Nate
Giancarlo Esposito – Captain Neville
Zak Orth – Aaron
Maria Howell – Grace
I think this is the one I am most looking forward to out of the new fall shows. I love the storyline. All electricity and power in the world shuts down – the story is then fast forwarded 15 years and we get to see what has happened with society. I have often wondered what would happen if we lost all power…. I have seen what happens in a store when the register shuts down – everything stops. I can only imagine what it would be like with no power….a scary thought.

Vegas – September 25th – CBS
Dennis Quaid – Ralph Lamb
Michael Chiklis - Vincent Savino
Carrie-Anne Moss – A.D.A Katherine O’Connell
Vegas is inspired by the true story of former Las Vegas Sheriff Ralph Lamb, a rancher tasked with bringing order to Las Vegas in the 1960s. This looks like it will be a great drama series. The rise of the Las Vegas Mob and the country man who will try to bring order.
So those are my picks for new fall shows that look like they might be decent. What show is your favorite new arrival? Are there any new fall shows that I didn’t pick that you think will be the next great show?

I am looking forward to Revolution. They could do a lot w/ this
This show,it has potential. Also, 666 Parkside looks interesting.

Yeah thses are the 2 I most look forward to…. I just hope we dont have a season like last year where anything I found 1/2 way interesting got cancelled
Carolyn says:
I think that the actual address for 666 Park Ave is 999 Park Avenue (that’s why people don’t get it that live there, like you said). In the previews is shows the address as 999 with a shadow underneath that eludes to the evil 666.
I’m looking forward to 666 Park Ave and Revolution. The Neighbors looks awful to me. Last Resort is a maybe at best.
geekgirldythia says:
AHHHHHHH ok…I missed that – I was really confused on how dense the residents could be LOL! Still 999 I would get it but I guess I watch a lot of horror LOL
Alaina Bullock says:
Wow! Quite the line-up! You are right, there are a lot of shows to look froward to! Great review…thanks!

I have been looking for a lost replacement as well – I thought Alcatraz would be it….but guess not LOL
Courtney says:
I’ve seen the first episode of Revolution and it looks good. I hope there are more flashbacks to what happened once the power went out.
geekgirldythia says:
I watched it this morning…I loved it! I am pretty sure there will be since the actress that played the mom has been in a couple things and she was only in like 5 minutes of the show….So I figure each episode will give more infor about the last 15 years….. I am going to do a post on Revolution….but I want to wait until I have seen 2 or 3 episodes
